Certain clips are unstable in rendered movie

Currently using Sony Movie Studio Platinum v13.0.  OS Win 7.

Attempting to render a movie in the AVCHD format option, but certain video clips become unstable (jittery), and then lock up (freeze on one frame) while audio continues unaffected.

I am using various video clips collected over several decades (this is a "Legacy Video" that I am working on) with extensions .VOB, .MPG, .M2TS, .AVI and .MP4.  The problem is associated with the .MP4 clips.  Again, these clips will run okay for a while, and then become unstable.

I have attempted re-importing the problem clips, but have had only limited success in getting around this problem.

Also, some photos will appear larger than desired (as seen in video preview window, obviously), and re-importing has generally proved successful.

The folks in Dresden can only suggest updating the graphics card driver, which has had no impact in resolving this block wall that I am now up against.

Post media info on one of the problem mp4 clips. Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Do the clips play up when previewing or only on render?

I am getting a "Hmmm . . . can't reach this page" error message.

The clips play fine while previewing.

Yesterday I copied the three clips that make up the event from the desktop source folder and pasted into a temporary folder (so that the copies would have a different path name). I then imported the three copy-clips into the timeline at the end of the project. I split the clips into sub-clips of no greater than two minutes each, with the notion of isolating the moment of corruption, if possible.

Upon rendering each sub-clip, I found no problems. However, when I rendered in aggregate, the problem popped up in one of the sub-clips.

I have just now taken the problem sub-clip and further subdivided into three sub-sub-clips. No problem presents itself when rendered individually ! I will next render a wider swath of sub-clips to see which sub-sub-clip gets nasty with me.

It may also be worth noting that once this corruption begins in a rendered movie, it continues on through other events until it comes to an AVCHD clip, and then all is smooth sailing.

Musicvid . . . If you see this, while I received your message regarding "Try setting your output frame rate to 30p", I can not link to it to respond. If you see this, could you please elaborate ? Is this a Project Properties setting ?

Sorry, it was irrelevant. Good luck!
