Chroma Keyer Glitching Blue Colors

Hello, in my last video, my subject handles items that are light blue / cyan, and I started to notice that those items shift color and become an unnatural blue, it looks like contrast has been pushed A LOT after applying the chroma key effect.

Is it a bug in the chroma key plugin ?

If anyone has a fix please let me know because I bought an animation and my logo is blue so its cutting it out.

Thanks,

Ben

No, in order to work properly with a green screen, chroma keyer has to allow a limited range of chroma values. usually a cold green [0,177, 64], upon which your items are an incursion. They do that so the key is opposite the flesh line. You could try shifting the key values a little more towards green-center, maybe [0,177,0] and see if it helps. Trying to make fine distinctions like that can be dicey.

There is an issue with the Vegas Pro Chroma Key FX but I don't know if it's same thing as you encountered.

The VP Chroma Keyer will turn pure magenta to pure red if you key pure blue. And it will turn pure cyan to pure blue if you key pure green. No way to overcome no matter how strong you try to limit the width of the angle of the key color (easy to proof with a color bar). I'm not aware of any other chroma keyer acting this way and I used a lot.

You could try using the Color Corrector Secondary FX with its alpha option which then can be abused as a chroma keyer. This sometimes works better than the core Chroma Key FX.

@ben-b6548

If you will post a screen grab of what you are seeing, @Marco. could tell you if it's the same problem.
