color change/blur when rendering

Hello all

i am trying out the new vegas movie studio 14.0 but having some "issues" when rendering ("make movie")

the main issue is i get color differences without doing anything, for example this is just a shot without any editing (just dragged it on the timeline),

on the left is the original shot, on the right is the output from vegas

how come i am getting a much grayer looking image ?

my second issue is i get some minor blur on moving shots.
could it be that maybe these issues are just related to the limited options in the render settings (in comparison to vegas pro ?)

the render settings are standard mp4, the source file is a 4k mp4 (50,000 fps progressive, 1920x1080x12, AVC)

Thanks,
synro

As far as I know, all of the advanced render options in Vegas Pro are equally accessible in Movie Studio.

There is nothing forcing you to stick with the templates in either application...

We would need lots more information to address the two issues you pointed out.

Do you see the color difference even if you put the rendered video back to the Movie Studio timeline and view on the internal preview?

I found the less 'filters' used the better..

@Marco, i tried your idea and yes, on the internal preview it was also washed out

this had me testing some things and concluding problem lays in the playback and not in the rendering,

they original file opens in windows media player (triggered by external tool), and the rendered file opens in vlc, if i manually open the source file in vlc i get the same washed out color. so not a vegas problem.

btw: i found a solution here https://sekharpadikkal.wordpress.com/2010/03/26/fix-washed-out-colors-or-black-levels-in-vlc-player/ looks like it is a nvidia related problem

@Musicvid

when i go in to the advanced options, i can select from all the templates, but i can't customize them

maybe this is this not included in movie studio 14 ?

ok i am testing the basic version and according to the comparison sheet the basic version does not support custom templates

ill try the Platinum instead

thx all
