Is anyone able to help me with this? I have a project due and I need the program I paid for to work. I'm quite upset at this turn of events. Your responses will be more than greatly appreciated.

Here are the facts and specs:

The program crashes within 30 seconds of startup.

My PC is an ASUS laptop model Q505U

OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 2004 build 19041.746

CPU: Intel Core i5-8250

RAM: 12GB

I will attempt to post the crash data below this text:

Well, this is a user to user forum, so crash logs don't give us much information.

You're using a lower powered machine. How much space is on your hard drive?

I assume you were editing video at the time of the crash. The program doesn't crash with no media in it, does it? Or are you saying it won't even start up. That it crashes while starting up?

If you were editing, where did the video you're editing come from? What device created it and what is its format and resolution?

Steve,

I can start the program and sit there for 30 seconds without doing anything else and it crashes. I tried starting a project: Crash. I tried doing nothing: Crash.

I have 176GB free on the built-in SSD on this computer.

I just wanted to knock out a 10-minute 1080p video while I was idle at work.

I understand it's a low-powered machine, but I don't think I'm asking too much of it.

Perhaps I am and will have to do this on my main computer at home. I'd like to avoid that for time sake.

I have the same CPU; that is not the problem, as I work on 4k most days. i5 8250 is equivalent to i7 4th Gen.

1. Update your graphics drivers to the latest. The fault module is your AMD drivers.

2. If that doesn't help, turn off "GPU acceleration of video processing" in Preferences.

3. Either way, thoroughly read this article and see how much of it applies to you.
