Clicking the external monitor preview button doesn't work?

With both monitors turned on, try unplugging and replugging your HDMI cable.

@Kevin-Pollack Grab the preview window tab at the bottom, pull it down then across to your second monitor. Then resize it to suit. I prefer this to the second monitor preview option as described by @fr0sty as the grid, etc isn't shown when this is used.
