Editing A Created Multicam Event

russ wrote on 10/27/2018, 1:09 PM

Hello.

I am a relative novice on VEGAS PRO 15 -please forgive if this question does not make sense. My question concerns editing a multicam event after it has been created (I use Plural Eyes to synchronize). After the synced event is exported back to Vegas, I cannot edit it normally - for example I cannot split the event and delete a portion (say from camera 1) without affecting all occurrences of camera 1 on the timeline. I have resorted to creating and un-creating groups to circumvent this, a rather cumbersome task. Is there a better way?

Thank you.

Russ

Yes, render all your media to new tracks before creating the multicam environment.

This gives you a pristine duplicate set of event media from which to draw upon later.

Musicvid.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Does rendering to a new track affect the quality?

MaybIbask why you are deleting portions of an event? If the take is not active, leave it, it doesn’t do any harm.

OldSmoke.

Perhaps my terminology is not precise. I have produced a multicam track with takes from several cameras. There are sections I want to cut out here and there. Or I want to split and insert a title or another clip. Seems that I cannot create two splits and delete the section delineated by the splits without deleting all occurrences of the camera take being deleted.

Again I apologize for inaccurate terminology.

Russ, copy to new track is what I meant.
