I'm Vegas user for 14 years since it was Sonic Foundry then Sony and now MAGIX. I can't understand why there are still no very simple features. (maybe for next 10 versions of Vegas)))
1. When stretching video events with ctrl+drag or stretch/compress tool will be great if it will "snap" at some places like 200% 50% 25% (right how it works at 100% now) or multiples to project frame rate. For example, if your footage is 50p and project is 25p it will snap at 25% 50% 100% 200% etc. If your footage is 24p/30p/60p and project is 25p it will snap at conformed to project fps values (multiples of 104,16% for 24p and 41,6% for 60p footage).
2. Add option to change tape name for groups of files or option to lay selected tracks using timecode at one track. It's so crazy to change tape name manually😠😵
3. Very old request - few timelines in one project. For example, one for raw footage and second for finlal compilation, to copy'n'paste footage from one timeline to another. Yes we can use few VEGAS instances but it dramatically slow down my powerfull enough laptop with 16GB RAM while this method works perfectly in Davinci Resolve or Premiere.
4. Change "Playback Rate" button at the top of event (or add another one) to "Conform to Project frame rate". Add option to slow down audio of this event as well.
5. Add user envelopes for events (like we have Velocity envelope now) for FX plugins. Will be great to use envelope to control Twixtor speed or maybe white ballance of FilmConvert. Yes I can use keys in "Event FX" / Track FX" but it's very slows down editing process for me now.
6. Improve "Timecode" FX so it will show not only time but file name.
7. Convert few selected events to "new project" (like precomposing in AE) and insert it (replace events) like nested project.
8. Assignable mask for every Event FX separately.
9. Using mouse to zoom and move picture in Video Preview window. Vegas is only one software I know without this very simple funtion.
10. "Footage interpret" option in Properties>Media. Ability to change frame rate to any as it made for pixel aspect ratio.
