I'd also like to mention how much I appreciate the well written tutorials! There are times, more frequently as of late, when I just want to read through things and not watch another video. The articles are well-organized and very helpful and descriptive.

What "well-written tutorials" are you referring to?

I will say I am surprised with the Trial, but let me preface by saying I am running dinosaur hardware (Q9650 processor which is a Core 2 Quad). The trial, using my normal 1080i Canon vixia footage is smooth as butter. I can even preview full speed on my Blackmagic Decklink. This is making me consider purchasing. I know there will be some features I may not be able to access, but since I can't now anyway, I don't have much to lose. Thanks Vegas and Magix team.

I made a post recently comenting the same. Mine is even older, a Q6600 and paired with a RX460 can apply a lot of GPUs acelerated effects in the timeline with no slowdowns, color correction, modern codecs like HEVC or AVC runs with no problems in 1920X1080 and you can apply any effect you want (GPU acelerated). You can even chain a lot of effects and put the preview in Best Quality and Vegas will not miss a frame.

I cannot use 4K without proxy but for a 2007 cpu I think is amazing.

I recommend you to pair your CPU with a cheap polaris radeon card and you will have no problem at 1920X1080 with the most modern codecs, you could render using the GPU etc.. etc...

Hi I recently purchased the Vegas Pro 18 with the Vegas Pro 19 double deal upgrade offer . I've had no correspondence at all about the Vegas Pro 19 download upgrade that was supposed to be sent to me in August .Does anyone know anything?

You're in the wrong thread for this. Check your spam folder and try to login to your account to see if it's there. If not, as it's now weeks past the release data I'd go back to the top and file a support ticket (or email support). There are a number of other threads on this same issue.
