Vegas has a tutorial for HDR workflows in Vegas Pro which might be well worthwhile consulting:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/video-editing/hdr-color-grading-in-post-production/

Though I don't use HDR myself, I do see that the HDR setting recommended in Step 1 applies to Vegas Pro 17 and 18, but Vegas Pro 16 only has an HDR checkbox that is either checked or not checked (i.e. VP16 does not provide an HDR10 or HLG choice as occurs in both 17 and 18).

The other issue is whether or not your graphics card and monitor support HDR.

Thank you for the MediaInfo!

There is nothing in your file properties to cause this. Have you tried a fresh project? Can you upload an original sample to Drive or Dropbox?

Here is the clip that turns green when I import it to Vega 16:

Here it is in Vegas Pro 18. Can't speak to your experience or settings in 16.

Good_Punk wrote on 4/25/2021, 8:41 AM

So it's probably some kind of compatibility issue with Vegas 16

Dexcon wrote on 4/25/2021, 8:51 AM

@Good_Punk  ... try downloading the trial version of Vegas Pro 18 and test that HDR video in 18. That way you'll know whether its a problem with Vegas Pro in general or perhaps with your graphics card and/or monitor.

No. I said I cannot speak to that because I do not know.

I tried it in V16 and got green.

Dexcon wrote on 4/25/2021, 9:06 AM

Yes, definitely green screen here in VP16 but okay in VP17 and 18. And the initial attempts to open in VP16 crashed VP16.

Yes, can confirm. Just downloaded the Trial for 18 and it worked and yes it also crashes in 16 on my first attempt, I just didn't mention that because I didn't know if it was relevant as it worked the second time.

Former user wrote on 4/25/2021, 9:50 AM

It didn't crash on my first try, but it did have to authorize the codec.
