How can create my own scripts? Is these created in special software?

I want to make Vegas arrange my multi camera videos on timeline automatically sorted according to video created time or modified time. I tried Layout tracks according to date & stamp but it is not working. so I want to create my own script.

so where can I create scripts of Vegas Pro? And can I get any tutorial to creation of scripts in Vegas Pro?

Due to the number or lack of readable timestamps in a wide variety of sources, you've got an uphill battle. Vegas reads SMPTE timecodes, but only if it appears on the first frame of your master camera footage. I prefer freerun nondrop with genlock for multiple daisy-chained cameras in a single shoot.

Sir can u elaborate, what is freerun nondrop with genlock system???

In Free Run time code, the clock runs continuously. Record Run starts/stops With Record, Pause and/or stop. With free-run, most folks set the TC clock to TOD (time of day). Drop Frame (DF) is duration accurate, good for post for broadcast, commercials and such, where the elapsed time must be exact... Non-drop would read one tenth of one percent longer. 30fps opposed to 29.97. In Basically with DF, a TC frame is dropped every minute (or is it two min?) except on the tens as I recall, (Have not had to think about this much lately). Drop frame does not actually delete a video frame itself, just on the code.

Genlock is like a wordclock in audio. locks two or more devices together, Frame by frame sync accurate, no drift, TC by itself does not guarantee drift free operation.

2 frame counts are dropped each minute except for 000000 and each ten minute. Think of it like leap year.

You sync your cameras with an xlr cable.

The goal is to have SMPTE timecodes to match on the timeline. It only works if there is time code on the first frame. This is the timecodes format Vegas recognizes.

Rraud, david-tu,

Is there an editing preference for drop vs. nondrop? My hired guns usually shoot nondrop.

When editing commercials, we always used non-drop because it made the math so much easier. I just had to think in base 30 and 60. But when doing program length, you need to do drop-frame. As far as shooting, I don't think it makes much difference because accuracy of time is not important at that phase.

If accurate timing/length reporting is not important, then either works. I don't worry too much about it for my home movies, but for my theater stuff where timing is critical, I stick to drop-frame.
