You have tools to change colors but not as you describe. The red channel can never be bluish, it is red. You can reduce the amount of red making the blue more prominent, though. You can manipulate R, G, and B values independently using color curves in the grading window or as a Fx at the track, media or event level.

You can change the hue and saturation of specific colors in several different Fx, and limit the range quite precisely (secondary color corrector and selective hue).

If you want to use curves to do hue vs hue or hue vs sat, see the Graide color curves.

HSL is not an individual color channel control. It is a perceptual color model popularized in consumer color teevees since the late 1960s.

It purposely does not follow the transmissive rgb primary model, nor can it be made to do so. It is consumer oriented, since adjusting all three voltages in the same direction on a crt would fry the hv cage and even cause the picture tube to explode.

AAV Color Lab will do what you want. It's one of my go to tools for color tweaking.

It's also free!

Thanks for the tip, Ken. I realize now I had downloaded AAV but never used it. White balance and input levels work well. The 6 vector corrector is useful. I wish you could adjust the range of the colors but for what it is, it works. Too bad the developer didn't keep working on this tool.

Wow! That's it exactly. Thank you so much. You have saved me a lot of time.

This really should be included in Vegas.

RogerS wrote on 2/26/2020, 8:46 AM

Most of these tools are in Vegas, it just takes multiple Fx to do it.

I agree the color grading tab should have all of this functionality.

Hatece-Hadedva wrote on 2/26/2020, 9:35 AM

Just for learning sake, could you please explain the multiple FX recipe, for instance, to change the HUE of CYAN channel to RED, but not touch any other colors? Like AV Color Lab does it.

I really tried hard with all native FXs available, but never found anything close to that.

RogerS wrote on 2/26/2020, 10:44 AM

I listed two in my first post to give a try. With either one you can select the colors more precisely than Av.

Hatece-Hadedva wrote on 2/26/2020, 11:47 AM

I failed to produce what I need in those. Could you please explain how can I do what I need with mentioned "grading windows" and "FXs"!?

Marco. wrote on 2/26/2020, 1:53 PM

The most easy way to do with the Vegas Pro native FX may be the Color Corrector Secondary where you'd use the pipette to select the color you want the hue to be modified.

Just to repeat what RogerS already wrote in his first comment:
A color channel's hue cannot be changed (and it is not what AAV does). It is the very nature of a color channel to be one and only color which can only be modified in saturation and luminance.
What you want to do is to change the hue of a particular color or modify the color vector, not to change the hue of a color channel.

@Hatece-Hadedva The absolute best color manipulation plugin for VEGAS is 'Graide Color Curves' developed by SeMW. It allows you to do just about anything with colors including using an eye dropper to select a single color or color range.

I just made an overview tutorial of this plugin showing all it's features here:

Now this is not a free plugin. It normally costs ~$60 USD but I did talk with the developer and because of my overview video, he's giving everyone 20% off it's normal price by using this link: https://curves.scrapyardfilms.com.

Just in case you're wondering, I do not get any sort of commission off of this. He's a developer just wanting to get his plugin more known and I just made a review about it.

What you want to do is to change the hue of a particular color of your video frame, not to change the hue of a color channel.

+1.

Wisdom that only a very few will understand.

@Hatece-Hadedva - Have a look at this I did. It utilises the 2nd Colour corrector and WILL allow you to change individual colours. Anyways it’s Fun too!:
