Applying a stock correction, while it may reflect the author's personal preference, is unnecessary and unrelated to one's portable operating system. I disagree that destroying shadow detail by increasing the contrast that much is some how "correct." It is more of a user-specific call.

The Studio RGB correction is all that is needed, and that advice has been around for years.
