How to edit eventlength to fixed audio notelengths

walter-born wrote on 4/30/2018, 5:49 AM

Try to enter an array of pictures with the same eventlength of 0,5 seconds = 1/4 note.

Settings

Result

1) What value do I enter under options/preferences/edit in seconds so pictures change on the beat? Entering 0,5 seconds does not work. Out of the grid with the first picture. (timelineabove is displayed in seconds)

2) Is there a way to sincronize pictures already entered in the track as a group, not individually? Also dragging the length of events does not seem to work. (ctrl+leftmousebutton +dragging) Ends automatically either go above or below. Won´t lock on the grid.

At 25fps, .5 second would be 12.5 frames. Since video can only be edited on full frames, you will have to do a tradeoff. It will either need to be half frame early or late. I don't think that you will notice a half frame off of a beat.

So I understand that Vegas moves the endpoint to the next coming frame? It gets out of sync pretty quickly. Retried with 24fps, works. Thanks for the hint. That was what I needed...

It's not what Vegas "does", it's what video frames "are." There is no such thing as a part of a frame.

Suggest you record using a click track that is an integer factor of your video frame rate, or do it all in a midi composer.
