Toto_Vegas wrote on 12/9/2016, 2:16 AM

Hello,

I tried to import avs files into Vegas Pro 14 built 201. Ii's a big fail. I read lot of topic but no way, impossible to import this kind of files (VFAPI reader, Virtualdub,...).

I folow several tutos but nothing works. I think that the problem come from 64bits of my system.
Does somebody have a solution?

Regards.

Hello,

An .avs file is a virtual video file. Avisynth manage this kind of files. The adress:

http://avisynth.nl/index.php/Main_Page

Avisynth and the .avs files are used for advanced project. You can change color space, resize, déinterlace etc...
Lot of filters are avaible.

I would like to import .webm file into Vegas. That why I was thinking about avisynth.
The intersting thing is that if avisynth workes with Vegas Pro you can import almost all video files.

I put on a .webm file here : https://www.dropbox.com/s/crv0jkejzuaxfdn/elephants-dream.webm?dl=0

Regards.

If by WebM you mean vp8, there is a vfw codec available. It pretty much sucks.

I don't know of a vfw vp9 codec for Webm, nor if native support in Vegas is planned.

Hello every body.

I finally succeeded to import avs files into Vegas Pro. Thank you GJeffrey.

  • I have to download "AVFS 1.0.0.6.zip" from avfs (http://turtlewar.org/avfs/).
  • I have to download and install Pismo (http://pismotec.com/download/).
  • I have to install Avisynth 2.58 for 32bit and LAVFilters-0.68.1 for 32bits.
  • I have to create the avs file and very important I convert to ConvertToRGB24().

Example of avs file:

DirectShowSource("C:\Logiciels\Avfs\elephants-dream.webm")
ConvertToRGB24()

It seems to work correctly.

Regards.

Hello,

Can you tell me more about vfw codec for VP8? I have LAVFilters-0.68.1 for 32bits installed but impossible to import my webm VP8 files.

Regards.

De rien Toto, glad I could help.

It seems that using avisynth+ (64bits) together with the matching plugin is working as well.

Search Videohelp.com to find that codec. Google dumped it sometime back.
