How well does Vegas handle Variable framerate footage?

I have been recording gameplay and uploading it to youtube using Premiere Pro. Unfortunately, the audio drifts out of sync, and I have to use handbrake to correct it.

I have been on a 40% discount of CC this past year which is due to end next month. So I was wondering. Does Vegas handle variable frame rates better without the audio drift issue during the editing process? Because if so I am switching to it. At the end of the month.

Yes, try the trial, but neither Vegas nor Premiere is very good with vfr.

Ffmpeg conversion before editing is suggested. Handbrake re-encodes so it's not as good.
