That, as they say, would be a crapshoot.

Legacy 1394 drivers are for 1394 firewire cards. So if you don't have one of those, it is not a solution for you.

Once you have found an old box with a 1394 firewire card, or compatible adapter, you should be able to capture DV-AVI from your DVCAM using Vegas or Scenalyzer.

Don't look for a card; look for an older working computer that has one. Flea markets are good.

Or you can try USB capture with other software. No experience there.

I am using my old 1394 firewire card and I can confirm it works perfectly. Windows 10 has the drivers, no need to worry about downloading any legacy drivers!

Ernest, some older chipsets are still compatible with Win 7+ 1394 drivers.

That is not always the case, however, so your observation shouldn't be generalized to include someone else's setup.
