Install Contour Design Shuttle Pro V2

Edward-Hill wrote on 2/10/2022, 4:21 PM

I installed drivers for Contour Design Shuttle Pro V2 on Windows 10. i7 PC with 32 Gb ram and 3 Tb of drive space. Using Vegas Pro 19. Not sure of configure of Shuttle Pro for Vegas. There are probably existing posts about how to fix this. Where can I find this on the forum? The buttons work and the jog advances one frame. The shuttle only goes forward, but not shuttle backwards. Thanks, Ed Hill

(@Musicvid - Thanks!)

@Edward-Hill - What's your issue with it?

Grazie, thanks for the help. He jumped on a Zoom meeting and demonstrated some of the solutions for the Shuttle Pro. In case anyone else has problems with Shuttle Pro, here are some notes.

After installing the Shuttle driver software, you can open up the Shuttle configure application. This lets you program any of the 15 Shuttle buttons with any keyboard shortcuts you want.

You can also configure Shuttle to do a specific set of button actions for other programs such as your photo editor or audio editor.

Each action in Vegas Pro has a keyboard shortcut. Pushing the Shuttle button is the same as pressing the keyboard for the Vegas shortcut.

So button 1 on the Shuttle stores the (Ctrl-S)shortcut for saving the Vegas project.

Then you have to decide, what Vegas actions do you do the most and place those actions into a separate button on the Shuttle Pro. You can find all the keyboard short cuts you need in the Vegas Help tab.

For my editing style, I chose:

Edit tool Ctrl D

Next Edit tool D

Save project Ctrl S

Open Motion tracking window Alt M

In Point I

Out point O

Goto start of timeline Ctrl Home

Goto End of timeline Ctrl End

Goto loop and play Shft Q

Split S

Insert clip Ctrl V

play forward L

play reverse J

You can also add macros to a button from a tool calledHappy Otter Scripts or HOS

This Shuttle Pro is a real time saver.

Another tip.

Program the jog wheel to move one frame for every click with F3(reverse) and F9(forward).

Programming the Vegas arrow keys made it move 15 frames for every click of the jog wheel. F3 and F9 give you single frame movement.

Grazie, thanks for the help.

@Edward-Hill - It was a total pleasure. Yes, the 45 minutes session ZOOMed by. Your enthusiasm for the CSP2 was infectious. You are a terrific student.

I don't know if you mentioned it, but I have very similar CSP2 layouts for iZotopeRX9 Advanced so I don't have to even think where my fingers need to go, in switching between VP and iZo.

Is there a prefrence file for pro20? I have the latest files from Contour, but it doesn't list anything for pro20. When I highlite any of the vegas options it doesn't give me an apply option. How do I get the shuttle pro v2 to work with version 20. It worked just fine with version 19.

Use one of the Shuttle Pro preferences files in the Vegas Pro 20 folder? For example: VEGAS Pro 20 -- ShuttlePRO v2.pref
