Issue with Vegas Pro 15 - License Activation and codecs

When i try to activate import a media file on Vegas 15 build 416 it tries to activate the codec, but it does not succeded. Claiming I have no Internet. I came to the conclusion that they have changed the activation URL.

I have checked with Wireshark and when it tries to activate the codec it gets the error that the URL: site.magix.net has moved permanently - error 301. Vegas 15 codec and new license activation will not work until Magix fixes the issue.

I have TLS 1.1 and 1.2 active.

I can provide wireshark evidence.

Please fix the activation URL.

Please fix the activation URL.

There will be no change for Vegas 15 anymore, since VP15 came versions 16, 17 and now 18.
If I was in your place I would try VP18 to look if that codec will be activated in the trial version.

Now i have uninstalled the license, and now i am unable to proceed with the activation.

I have 300 licenses on my company of vegas pro 15. I am unable to proceed with new activations. It does not make sense MAGIX to leave customers without being able to fix current installations.

At this point, it would be a good idea for you to contact Vegas Pro Support via https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/interview/ (its unfortunately a convoluted user-unfriendly process) unless you have another Support contact arrangement due to the bulk purchase.

I have reported also to Vegas support, i am waiting for a good reply. Please don't tell me that we have spent so much money on 2017 to necessary renew all of it on 2021. They almost have major version every year.

All of this because of license activation. We should be able to use software that we have bought 2017 without limitations. I am not requesting a feature! I am not requesting a correction of the software behavior.

The software activation or codecs activation should always be possible.

The activation issue needs to be addressed by Vegas Pro support as you have initiated; but you remain silent on the codec that is causing you this grief. If you wish to get support by posting on this user forum, its helpful to provide tech info as outlined in https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/important-information-required-to-help-you--110457/ . If you are not willing to be upfront about details about your media, codecs and so on, its unlikely there is any point in you having an expectation that anybody on this user forum will be able to provide you with any specific help.

The codec that i was trying to activate is mp4/AVC. I know that it won't be the user forum, that will be able to help me, since this is in fact a magix issue.

The issue is not related with a codec activation, but related any activation: licensing or codec. The same mechanism is being used for this.

The company that I work for has 300 licenses of Vegas Pro 15. We were happy with this version, for our work we still don't need a newer release, it does not make sense to buy again 300 licenses of a newer release.

But you can be alerted for issues with license activation on older releases like Vegas 15.
