Keep losing video in video media added to movie--audio stays.

I'm using Movie Studio 16.0 Platinum. I'm having a terrible time building a movie, as after I get a 30-minute movie with all mixed media added, the video track on my added videos goes blank. The audio portion is still there, but no video. I can save all I want during editing, but when a good project is re-opened, the video is missing. After an hour or so, it may return, only to disappear again. I have rebuilt this short mixed media project many times and am thoroughly frustrated. Sometimes, the video comes back if I hit the Power User Mode button and wait a while, but I can't tell when I am in the Power User Mode--and later the video disappears again. Does anyone have a suggestion to enable me to keep the video portion of my project?

Assuming it's not a resource issue with your computer (ie, it doesn't have the power to play your video at its current playback setting)...

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what is its format and resolution?

Open your source video in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the text of this report and paste it to this forum. With these detailed specs we'll better be able to help you.

It would also be helpful to know your processor and RAM load.

The videos are from my I-phone, not a camcorder. There is no problem loading them and the video portion and audio portion show separately in my project. The video portion is what is going black. I have an HP desktop computer with 16.0 GB of installed RAM. It has a 64-bit operating system with a x64 based processor and am using Windows 10. Since I posted this problem my Movie Studio 16.0 has stopped working every time I open my project and try to make any changes. It's now unusable unless I can get help.

Most iPhone video simply will not load in Vegas Movie Studio 16 because it is variable frame rate.

You can run it through Handbrake first at constant frame rate and it will work fine in Vegas.

For individual support, the following information is necessary:

I followed your link but saw no help for my problem. I saw the instructions for making a screen shot, but have no such key on my keyboard. Also found no link to Handbrake. My movies have worked great in the past.. I don't understand why there is no support at all for the video portion going black on all the videos that had been previously viewable and the fact that my Movie Studio 16.0 Platinum is stopping working every time I open the project and try to work in it.

It is quite impossible for us to help you without you giving us detailed information about your system including CPU and GPU information. And we also need the previously requested MediaInfo readout for the media that you are having problems with.
