Lightsaber effects?

Anyone know any good tutorials or methods for adding lightsaber effects in Vegas Studio Platinum (not pro). I'm working with a video that has a stunt saber in it but it's filmed in daylight and you can't tell it's even lit. I think just adding a new effect over the blade is going to be the way to go.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm working on a much smaller budget though. This is all volunteer projects for local youth groups. I'd have upgraded to Pro and done it there otherwise. I'll keep looking into inexpensive options.
