Logi Streamcam no image in Capture

Eric-Pazandak wrote on 2/17/2022, 8:22 AM

In capture I am able to record from any screen successfully, except Logi Streamcam (USB type-C). All drivers, firmware, and software are updated that I can think of. When I start Vegas capture, the camera power indicator light is activated and the camera's microphone shows activity, however the Vegas capture screen for it is black, the other Vegas capture monitor screens all show their images. Using Logitech capture software, everything works.

Are there settings that I need to change for the camera? Is there another solution?

Windows 10, i7-8700, 32GB memory, GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, UR44 sound interface. Are there settings I've failed to adjust related to the Logi camera?

Thank you for any help with this.

Vegas Capture is designed to work with 1394 Firewire input only, not USB. "Some" USB devices actually deliver an image, but it's a crapshoot because it's unsupported.

Is firewire still being used on new motherboards? I thought it had been replaced by faster connections, but I don't work in the industry. Thanks again for the information.

Eric,

Vegas firewire capture is a legacy utility and it may be eliminated at some point. It also supports a variety of SDI cards, but it has been largely replaced by Device Explorer.

I also use OBS but could not get Vegas screen capture to work either. I really wanted to keep everything w/in Vegas and not have to resort to multiple apps for screen cap.

Another simple solution I use is XBox Game Bar capture built into Windows for quick and dirty captures. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of OBS and quickly get the capture job done.

XBox Game bar stores the captures in the Videos folder.
