m4a files won't copy

My ability to copy m4a tracks into a project has suddenly stopped working. I have always been able to do that before. I have the most recent version of quicktime installed. Any clues

May contain DRM. Try converting to mp3 in iTunes.

The only choice I get in iTUnes is convert to AAC

I am not sure it will help but you can try changing file's extension to <.mp4>.

Otherwise, try an online converter like Zamzar, and convert to PCM, <.wav> or <.aif> .
