Can anyone help me 'use my settings' to get my system operating 'all together like a great team'. I am having major STATIC PROBLEMS. Also, Volume hitting RED zone when speaking in to MIC while using Vegas. I am filming a "Short Film" for a Pitch to a studio and need to transfer Videos from Nikon B500 Coolpix in to Videos on Dell Laptop and then transfer to VEGAS MStudio 15 to EDIT. Major SOUND PROBLEMS. I need to go through entire system and get AUDIO working with everything else. This is quite a project! Windows 10. If I missed anything, sorry. Please, let me know. Encino, CA

James, Since Vegas 11 (32bit) the audio side of Vegas has been a MESS, especially if you use a multi track audio interface (with ASIO drivers) and it doesn't matter how good the interface is. I use RME interfaces, they are some of the best in the world and still get tons of glitches and problems and if you add a VST plugin to an audio track it makes matters worse. As I started with Vegas Audio 2 I'm now at a point I won't (and won't) use Vegas to record audio. With all of that said, the best you can hope for is to increase the audio buffer size till you can 'live' with the audio problems. Magix has needed to address this problem for YEARS but hasn't for some reason. Best of luck and remember to increase those audio buffer sizes :)...Oh, the 'Red zone' is because your input levels are to high, turn it down on the MBox or mixer if you use one..

Select the ASIO ( surround) driver in Vegas.

You have full control of levels and such in Vegas following correct configuration of your recording gear and inputs. Mic inputs often benefit from enabling the -20dB pad. You are entirely on your own there -- my advice is to make some mistakes.

Does Movie Studio ever get patched (point upgraded)? I reported being unable to upload a video to Facebook last August, Magix told me it had been escalated to QA and DEV, and that's the last I heard about my issue.

When I click on Help->Check for News..., there is none. If there are patches on the Magix site, I can't find them.

Vegas is one of the most capable and stable Digital Audio Workstations on the planet.

I don't say that lightly (see my signature).

Unfortunately, no one here nor at Magix support can help you set up all your new equipment correctly. Maybe someone from the store where you bought your equipment can help. Be nice to them.

James-Hall, you are basically correct in everything you said. Magix knows about this sound issue and have known for a very long time. Here's the last email I received from support: (yesterday)

Hello
Thank you for your message.
Strengthening audio support is something we are looking into for future implementation.  While we in support are not able to quote a specific time frame for this, this is something being looked at very seriously, as VEGAS did start out as an audio editing application.  We sincerely appreciate the time and effort that you have taken to explore the software and to share your information and opinions with us. It is very important that we receive this type of feedback so that we may better serve our customers.

Thank you for contacting Magix Support................

Oh, and don't put a 20db pad on an SM7B, the out put level of that mic is already very very low.

Magix knows about this sound issue

What sound issue? Vegas has been my primary DAW for sixteen years in commercial production, and I haven't seen any core "issues" not fully explained by PEBCAK. It's been rock solid for audio since VV2.

Oh, and don't put a 20db pad on an SM7B, the out put level of that mic is already very very low.

That is simply silly as general advice. Each hardware interface configuration is different, and I've seen a few (refer to signature).

Also, Volume hitting RED zone when speaking in to MIC while using Vegas. I

And thus my specific suggestion. So what specifically would you suggest, Michael?

"Maybe" endeavor to become part of the solution? 'Cause I know your not a whiner.

Max-Schuberth wrote on 1/17/2019, 2:05 PM

Thank you musicvid for the sarcasm. The Solution is in the hands of Magix As you seem want to make this personal, I bow to your great wisdom and knowledge. I now withdraw to my studio knowing that I have been put in my place and not to be seen on these pages again.

Consider me gone....Regards, MS
