MPEG-4 video file - problem / Vegas Edit 19

I apologize already for the bad translation and hope you can understand everything anyway (Google translator)

Hello, as stated in the title, I have a problem with the playback of the MPEG-4 video file. The footage was shot with the Sony Alpha III in 10bit V-Log 50fps.
Before I list everything, attached are my system data and the settings in Vegas.

- To the settings in Vegas, I've already tried a few - many options Off and On, but maybe I've missed something else.

My problem is that the icons/previews/videos in the explorer window take an extremely long time to display and reload after closing the program. That they are reloaded is maybe normal, but the speed is really underground.

If the videos are in the timeline/track, nothing works without a proxy created, no matter how I set the resolution in the preview. In the trimmer, unfortunately, I can't edit any video file, because it doesn't fall back on the created proxy file here, which extremely affects my workflow. To work with Vegas at all, I would have to drag all the files into the program (project media) and create them in proxy, which would take a long time at 300GB would also do me no good because I would have to trim everything in the timeline/track instead of in the trimmer window in front of it.

A umwandle in a common format with e.g. "Handbrake" is excluded, since it concerns here over 300GB video material, which would last really an eternity, despite relatively good hardware.

The topic codec I have also already gone through and must unfortunately admit that if anything would be missing, it would not work everywhere. Neither in Pr nor in Davinci I had problems and could start immediately without creating Porxy's. Since I am reluctant to switch to the competition due to years of using Vegas, I would be very grateful if we could find a solution to the problem so that I can continue to enjoy Vegas. Gladly I leave more data

Okay, you've changed a bunch of stuff and it didn't help. Fortunately, there is a way to restore Vegas to the factory default settings. I suggest leaving them there until you are told otherwise.

When you have done that, please post all of the information asked for here, without guessing or skipping over anything, along with a detailed narrative describing your problem. That way, we will have the basic knowledge needed to lead you in the right direction.

Hello, thanks for the quick reply. Even the reset of all the settings, has brought me nothing, I should perhaps have mentioned in my first post. I like to go through everything again step by step. Would you like screenshots for this now again?

I had my problem but so far in detail geschliddert, what details would you still need?

Unfortunately, 10 bit 4:2:2 video isn't supported for GPU decoding (this is a GPU limitation, unfortunately, not a VEGAS limitation), so making proxies is your best bet. That said, the VEGAS team is working on refining its engine to be able to decode video faster, so there is hope that it will improve in the future, but for now you will need proxies.

I would reset Vegas back to the defaults. Definitely uncheck the legacy AVC decoder as it won't even 10-bit AVC! In general stay out of internal preferences.

What's I do is either highlight your media and "create video proxy." Alternatively, set the A7SIII to use 10 bit 4:2:0 and test both AVC and HEVC and see if either plays back acceptably in Vegas.

To get GPU support for decoding 10 bit 422 HEVC you need a current or last generation Intel CPU with iGPU.
Chart here (it says Premiere but Vegas supports the same GPU decoders).

😁😁😁
