MS15: Magix BD AVC codec isn't compatible w/ DVDA? (about NV Encoder)

I'm really excited that my GTX 1080 can finally be used with movie studio 15 platinum BUT I can't seem to find out how to use this to my advantage to create a Blu Ray AVC video stream that is compatible with DVD Architect 7.

Rendering it with regular Sony AVC/MVC creates a compatible file but that's not what I'm after - that can't use NV Encoder mode.

When I try to take advantage of the NV Encoder mode like this DVDA rejects it and tells me I must recompress the video stream: (the part I circled in red seems to be a bug when NV Encoder is selected, and it seems to put the slices back to 4 [default] but with no slider - as I set it to one as I don't know what that does)

 

I've tried almost every combination of settings with NV Encoder enabled (and even turned off with MainConcept AVC selected, instead) and it still requires recompressing! So is there any combination of settings that I can have that will allow me to encode a DVDA7 compatible AVC video stream in NV Encoder mode? The speed difference is about 60-80% faster but the file size is a little higher (due to my lack of knowledge of the Maximum and Average bit rate settings, most probably).

 

Or will I have to keep using Sony AVC/MVC for DVDA compatible files?

You say "for now"? Do they have plans to fix this or make an update to DVDA?

I have no idea. Historically, dvda has worked only with the stock DVD/bluray templates.

Well since blu ray standards can't be changed and since these templates are made for blu ray discs, I assume that this is a bug?

No, dvda was around long before Magix' acquisition as a proprietary companion product to Sony Vegas, not as a universal authoring software like tmpgenc.

Whether dvda is to remain a legacy product or gets repurposed is not up to me. Now, if you were to treat your question more as a feature request and less as a bug complaint it may get more attention from the development team.
