MS16platinum won't capture DV via AVI-HDMI-USB Exception 0xC0000005

At the completion of any attempt to capture I get the error message: An error occurred during the current operation
An exception has occurred

Exception 0xC0000005 (access violation) READ:0x4 IP:0x4427F3

MS16 on W10pro 20H2, AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, AV2HDMI to USB2

The connection and playback of target source within MS16 capture dialog is otherwise flawless.

Please advise.

You are lucky to get a capture from USB at all.

Vegas capture is designed to accept 1394 Firewire.

Having acquired a Canopus ADVC-55 firewire box I now cannot get MS16platinum to recognize the capture connection. DIP switches are set correctly. The unit shows correct power connection (green light). I use the same TI firewire pcie card to run an RME audio converter with no issues so windows is not the problem. Please advise.

One thing you need is the Legacy Microsoft 1394 Firewire driver. It is not included in Windows 10.
