Multicam Editing - a trap for the unwary! (VMS 15 - Build 116)

I'm editing a long concert on VMS15 using the multicam facility with the maximum number (4 for VMS) of cameras.

Every now and again I have looked at the timeline and found a whole load of shot segments have been all the same take, despite me having called different shots for each of them - aaargh!

It finally dawned on me that while playing back, all shot segments from the playback start point are highlighted with yellow borders (i.e. selected), not just the current segment. On having made an incorrect camera choice, instead of Ctrl-z-ing out and re-doing the edit, I had simply right-clicked and selected an alternative take. Big mistake: as all the shot segments since the last playback re-start were highlighted, they all adopted the new take choice (i.e. all became the same).

This is obviously a trap for the unwary. I won't fall into it again, but wonder what benefit there is in all shot segments after a restart being highlighted/selected - could it not be a rolling single-segment highlight?

You may have selected a track header, which selects all events residing on the track.

A big tip for you is to render all assets to a new track(s) before creating your Multicam track from the first set.
