You have to give that information out of the program Vegas. Rightclick on the file where it is and aske for the MediaINfo if you have installed that free app.
Roger, you are welcome to post the information requested here, in this thread, in the hopes one of your peers will be able to help. If you'd rather not, that's OK too, but neither we nor technical support can provide assistance without the minimum information. Thanks for understanding.

This is the problem as shown in my Vegas Studio 17 re the problem I am having getting MP4 to work without crashing every time I even touch a file.
@VEGASDerek Does this equal to this means that all older (Nvidia?) graphic cards older than the 9.... series are not working at decoding some files and crash the program in the new versions?
@j-v: That should not be the case. I've tested one of my older machines with an older NVidia card and have not experienced any problems. We are seeing a huge influx of crashes, especially in VMS 17. Most of them are with Intel GPUs, potentially with old drivers, and some on NVidia. We should be able to detect if a GPU has the capability of doing the hardware decoding and if it cannot, we will automatically turn it off. However, this may not be working properly. We are investigating to figure out a solution.
