noise reduction and cut blanks

Hi everyone,

I am a Vegas Pro 365 user.

When I shoot video (4K), I record the audio separately on a microphone. Then I do noise reduction and sound enhancement on Audacity. Then, I place my audio and my video in my Vegas Pro timeline and I do an export to be able to put my video in a software which will cut the silent parts for me (the blanks). I then export to vegas Pro and do the final video editing.

The problem is that the first export takes a very long time since it is in 4K and that for my blank slicing software, I need my file with the reworked audio and video.

How can I save time? Which steps removed? Does Vegas Pro have built-in noise reduction and sound enhancement?

Thank you for your answers.

Vegas started life a DAW. About the only thing you won't find is MIDI / Synth recording.

Three audio plugins load automatically on your audio track, ready for use. They are Noise Gate, Compressor, and EQ. A little surprised you haven't seen them along with dozens of others and VST support, because they would save you a heck of a lot of importing / exporting to third party apps.

I am not sure if Vegas 365 includes Sound Forge (the perpetual versions of VP do). Sound Forge can be integrated into Vegas, adding surgical editing capability and many more audio options.
Otherwise, Vegas Pro's built-in DAW is substantial, aside from full MIDI instrument support, VST-3 plug-in support and native side-chaining. As MV stated, Vegas started as an audio only multi-track DAW back in 1999.
