Opacity issue in VP 15 (build 387)

michael-felhendler wrote on 11/17/2018, 5:38 PM

Looking at a rendered project at a bigger screen I a noticed subtle shadows that shouln't be there. Going back to VP 15 it turns out that the shadows came from the camera of the track below the main camera. The opacity of the higher track was at 100%. The opacity of the lower track was left at 100%. Lowering the lower track opacity to 0% the shadows went away. Is this normal? Do you have to adjust the opacity of a lower track to 0% to make sure no shadows/ghost images appear? That slows down the editing procedure.

Best Regards,

Michael

I suspect your Compositing mode is incorrect. Both tracks should be Source Alpha, 100% opacity.

I have now checked the Compositing mode and it's Source Alpha on both tracks. I use cameras with different codecs, could that be the source of my opacity problem?

It shouldn't happen. There are reports on the forum of it getting nudged to 99%, but nothing inimic.

Do you have a project that will reproduce the problem?

Can you post a screenshot with the header settings visible?

It appears in an ongoing project. It's very subtle though, I spotted it looking at a bigger TV screen, where the underlaying ghost appears on a black background of the superior track.

Sorry, what header settings do you mean?

Basically the settings at the head of the video track, as well as include some of the tracks.

Thanks David, the issue is resolved! For some reason ( -->Me :-) ) the level slider on the superior track had been altered to 99%: Sorry for bothering you guys about something I should have been aware of myself.

Best regards,

Michael
