Please add MP4, with x264 and aac audio as Render option

Many of us do "frameserving to Handbrake" to achieve MP4, with x264 video encoding; aac audio.

This should be a Render option direct in Vegas Pro.

Ideally Multi-Core CPU or GPU (optionally) accelerated.

Other free (Handbrake) and commercial software (like Mercalli and TMPGEnc) offer x264 rendering.

Yes, .265 is the future, but x264 is the gold standard on current devices, tv's, Youtube, etc etc.

Wide Compatibility, 4k support and small file sizes will make mp4 / x264 / aac needed for years to come.

Please add to Vegas Pro.

Should be a quick and very welcome feature add to Vegas Pro.

Thanks.

X264 is open source, and not commercially licensed software.

Not saying it can't happen, but there would be a lot of hoops to jump through.

In the meantime, there is everything from ffmpeg to Handbrake to MeGUI and AVIsynth to get you through

It seems like if TMPGenc can do it, then in theory VEGAS could, but I can't see it happening.

One easy way would be to use Marco's Vegas2Handbrake.

If you're on VP14 then you need to make these modifications: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-14-and-vegas2handbrake--103569/

Personally I frameserve to MeGUI.

Another thing to consider is that AAC encoding in Handbrake (and ffmpeg) are both notoriously poor. You can still find HB 0.10.3 on videohelp, and all later versions must be un installed before putting it back on your machine. The FDK-AAC encoder in 10.3 was the closest was the closest thing we've had to a "good" open-source AAC encoder, but licensing became more restrictive last year.
