Okay, we're sort of getting somewhere.

For the GoPro, what media is it creating (exactly what is it set to?) Best way to answer is with MediaInfo: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

For the hardware, does the i5 have an iGPU in use? Under preferences/ file io in Vegas is the hardware decoder set to Auto (Intel QSV) or NVDEC?

Is this a desktop computer? If there is an iGPU try enabling it in bios.

Jonas-Steckis wrote on 10/23/2022, 2:35 PM

yes computer desktop,

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz   2.90 GHz

GPU: Geforce RTX 3060

RAM: 16gb

decoder auto

gopro mp4 2704/1520 59.94frames/second

RogerS wrote on 10/23/2022, 2:41 PM

What does auto say under decoder and what is the media specifically? Follow the link I pasted earlier.

Under Options - Preferences - File I/O tab, uncheck the "Legacy HEVC" option. Does that help?

Jonas-Steckis wrote on 10/23/2022, 4:00 PM

problem same :(

RogerS wrote on 10/23/2022, 7:23 PM

Okay, we're getting somewhere. It's 60fps GoPro HEVC.

Under preferences / file io where you found the decoder, what does it say after auto? If Intel isn't a choice see if you can enable the Intel iGPU in the PC's bios.

Also, are you on the current build of Vegas Pro 20 (214)? If not try updating to that.

Musicvid wrote on 10/23/2022, 8:50 PM

I sugges you build a Proxy for GoPro 60fps footage. That should be all you have to do; GoPro media is an acquisition format, and it was not made for efficient editing.

RogerS wrote on 10/23/2022, 8:56 PM

I also suggest going to the media window in Vegas, right-clicking and "create video proxy." 4K60 HEVC from a GoPro just isn't an easy format to play back.

Jonas-Steckis wrote on 10/24/2022, 5:35 AM

Vegas is trial version new,but maybe doesn't work with h265 codec vegas?

It does work with that codec.
I can use more than 10 hours 4K HEVC 50p on the timeline.
Your hardware is too weak for playing without using a proxy.
Make a proxy as @Musicvid and @RogerS told you and play that with the preview setting "Preview/Auto".

Trial version should create proxy. Your CPU suffix F suggest no intel graphics. Just create proxies and edit with those. Just remember to switch back to full for final render. Once you establish a routine life gets simpler. You would probably have the same problem if you trialed Resolve (free)
