Project Media question/issue

I load a video into trimmer, create some clips that I add to my timeline (via 'add to timeline from cursor' function), then rename each clip to something identifiable. When I go to Project Media my clips (and names) that I added from trimmer do not show in project media. Why? It shows the whole video clip that I loaded into trimmer but not the clips I created in trimmer and added to my timeline. That doesn't make sense to me. If something has been added to the timeline (whether it came from trimmer or wherever) then it should show in project media (along with the new name I gave it).

In trimmer select the region and right click and choose create subclip, choose the name of the subclip that will be created and press ok. Go to Project Media and its subclips will appear there. Then just add them to the timeline

If you already have clips placed in the timeline that were created from the trimer then do:

1.Select the Clips in timeline

2.Right Click and choose the option Create Subclip

3.Go to Project Media and its subclips will appear there

Because changing timeline events does not change media. Your original files stay intact, as they should be in a nondestructive environment. Guess you could name and save a take or sublip or render to new track if it is important to your workflow.

Thanks. Converting them to subclips then renaming does the trick.
