Recorder is recording all audio sources instead of only my microphone

Hello,

I am in Sony Vegas 16, and when I opened the program today to start recording some scripts, the :record" button I use to record my voice automatically into the sony vegas editor is now picking up any audio and putting it into the track. That includes audio in the editor or any sort of program that is open. It is suppose to only record my microphone like it always has. I check my windows sound settings and I don't see any changes. I also checked preferences and audio, but I don't see a selection for microphone selection.

Your audio interface settings in Windows are where you need to look to enable/disable input devices, not Vegas. But in Vegas, select your dedicated sound card drivers, not Mapper.

Check your PC sound settings, 'Stereo Mix' (records what you hear) may be selected for 'recording' Disable that and enable 'Microphone' . Confirm the desired 'default audio recording device in VP's "Options> Preferences> Audio Device" menu
