Render Blu-Ray with NV Encoder

Sging2 wrote on 2/21/2019, 10:17 AM

When using the MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 codec it seems to have a limit of 28:33 minutes after this it always goes black, anyone know why before I raise call. If I render with Sony AVC/MVC its ok. This has happened on a few projects so not the video and I stopped using it for a while but I really would like to fix it and use it.

I'm using Vegas 15 build 384

Kind regards
Stephen Gingell

When using the MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 codec

That is clear but which template of that codec are you using and has your renderlocation more than 2 x time of the given file storage?

Thanks guys for taking the time. Yes I didn't realise there was an update I am about to install that one now. I have plenty of hard drive space. See attached for the template information.

My laptop is now running that program for 30min 24p default Blueray file by that codec. It will take 35 minutes.

No problem rendering that file with VPro 15 latest build

This is the mediainfo of the made BlueRay videofile in AVC with the Magix AVC NVenc codec.

Thank you for all your time j-v, I will update and try the render again. On a footnote, which is the best quality Magix AVC NVenc codec or Sony AVC/MVC for Blu Ray I know there is a speed difference but does this affect quality.

Cheers guys

Stephen

The Bluray template that matches your source parameters, which you didn't think were necessary? - Would have an = sign

If you are using DVD architect to burn the disc, it will make you re-encode anyway. Since V15, it even forces a re-encode on mainconcept avc cpu encodes.

I never saw lower quality of the renders with NVENC but since a very long time I don't make Bluerays anymore, so I have nothing to compare those renders.
With low bitrates there is a difference using the GPU also for rendering, the NVENC option does with me a better job than the QSV option that is a fraction faster but gives with me artifarcts.

I updated to build 416 but it still goes black right on the 28:32 minutes to the end of the video.

Is there any improvements in Vegas 16 with the rendering that stops DVD architect re-encoding perhaps.

j-v wrote on 2/22/2019, 9:25 AM

The template you use looks to me a bit strange.
What is your goal to change the default settings of that template to the max and avarage you have choosen here

These are the default settings of Vegas 15 with only the change to NVenc for help of that GPU

Did you already took a good look at the problem point in your project to look for maybe strange things?

Last changed by j-v on 2/22/2019, 9:27 AM, changed a total of 1 times.
