render same as the media?

FayFen wrote on 10/29/2020, 5:18 AM

I just received a zoom session file to trim and clean.

The file is

Duration                                 : 51 min 6 s
Bit rate                                 : 697 kb/s
Width                                    : 1 360 pixels
Height                                   : 768 pixels
Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
Frame rate mode                          : Constant
Frame rate                               : 30.000 FPS

I import and tick the project to these.

I can't find where to tick to render it with these same properties?

* I can set it manually, but we are late in 2020...

Thank you.

Let the project adopt to the media and let the render list be filtered by the project settings.

Thank you Marco, I never used that. But it got me nothing.

This is a long requested feature that we simply have not been able to get to. It is on our list.

You can set a MP4 render template with the same settings as your zoom session and save this for future renders. The next time you need to render such a session, you just select the MP4 option in the MAKE MOVIE dialog and it will render with the correct template.

If you are going to be doing a lot of this, re-encoding from Zoom's measly bitrate is not rewarding.

Also, the direct stream processing Derek mentions is not a trivial undertaking with long-GOP interframe sources.

VideoRedo is a paid solution that works. Encoding to a high quality target with Voukoder for Vegas is another.

I'm just starting with Zoom, so I'll keep you posted but imagine I will stick with VideoRedo.

I agree it's "not trivial with long GOP" but its up to the user to decide/except the consequences and not the software to block. It's also close relates to the issue I raised few days ago about consolidating a project.

I think in 2-3 hours these things can be corrected, as basically the software got the media data.
