Rendering a 720x480 DV

This may have been posted before, but I had previously been using VP10 w/DVD Arch 5.2 . I have a lot of video tape home videos that I was converting using a ADVC-100 to convert them to a 720x480 DV & captured in VP10. Had no problems with good results using their rendering selections specifically for that resolution ( even in DVD Arch 5.2). Now after getting VP16 and the latest DVD Arch, I can't figure out what render settings to use now, on both. I normally use mpeg2. I tried two project & when they went to DVD Arch it wants to render them again. The results then aren't as good.

Use the DVDA mpeg-2 video template that fits your aspect, and also render a separate AC3 DVD Audio file.with the same name.

If you do it right, the thing should finish muxing in a couple of minutes..

Versions of DVDA beyond 5.2 are unnecessary, as they only added 3D support, and may be a little buggy.

Links to published tutorials, including DVDA, are included in my signature.

DVDs are always MPEG2 files. Render it using the MPEG2 template as Musicvid said, without audio. Render your audio separately as Musicvid says to either AC3 or PCM WAV. Set DVDA up for the correct project and it should not have to re-render. (I don't know why I felt I had to repeat Musicvid's instructions but sometimes repetition leads to understanding.)

No, usually detail leads to more understanding. I'm just lazy for not including it.
