Rendering error, do I have the correct settings Vegas Movie Studio 17

Melissa-McMullen wrote on 5/22/2020, 11:58 AM

I have made a video graduation for my son, it's 35 minutes long and my plan is to save it to a flash drive to send to family. Every time I try to render it an error comes up at some point and it quits. I don't know if its my computer causing it to do this or if my render settings are incorrect. Any help or guidance is most appreciated for this frustrated mom.

What type of sources do you use in the project and what is their MedianInfo (look here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/).
If we know that and what type is most used we can give you the needed settings to make that video for Vegas Movie Studio 17, do you use the simple version or Platinum.

I really am going to sound like an idiot but what exactly do you mean by sources? I have pictures and music in the video and am using Platinum.

Only pictures and what is the size of most of those pictures?

If you only use pictures did you use this?

The pictures range from 500-900KB and 2.35-5.17MB. I did not do the slideshow creator, I just started a new project and dropped in the pictures and music.

VMS should be a video editor for newbies and non-professionals.

Therefore is has a render option that looks like this:

Which automatically renders the video project depending on the project settings, which are also automatically selected when the first video clip is imported to the timeline.

When rendering stops at a certain point, it's mostly caused by a non or less supported Graphics Card.

You can try to switch this off and see if the rendering process continues without issues.

Thank you so much 3POINT, with your comment, I was able to figure out why I was unable to render a 4K video https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/movie-studio-17-low-on-memory--121048/

By disabling the Options > Preferences > Video > "GPU acceleration of video processing", I realized my video card was the bottleneck as it only has 2GB of memory and 4GB seem to be required for 4K video rendering. It is time to upgrade the video card.
