Set default aspect ratio to 16:9

I have searched for an answer until my head hurts.

I have Vegas Studio Platinum 16 and have media clips that have black bars left and right. I can adjust this using the pan/crop, but I have loads of clips that need adjusting. Is there anyway of selecting all the clips and adjusting the AR to 16:9 in a batch instead of one by one? Or how do I set the default in pan/crop to 16:9?

Many thanks,
Steve

If the clips are still images there's an option at the bottom of Options/Preferences/Editing to automatically crop them.

If they are videos you could put them all on one track and use Track Motion, or a PIP Video FX applied to the track, to crop them. But this might give inferior image quality compared to using Pan/Crop.

With Pan/Crop you can right click on the box and select Match Output Aspect which will then crop them. It means doing the clips individually but does have the advantage that you can move the crop box up or down to get the best composition from your cropped clip. Not all clips look their best when cropped top and bottom evenly.

You didn't say if they are thin black lines or somethng else.

You can:

"Adjust source to match project or render settings" in Project Properties;, or,

"Stretch video to fill frame" in Render Settings.
