Show video preview while rendering not working

mud wrote on 12/2/2022, 6:26 AM

I am using Vegas 20 Pro and suddenly the video preview stopped working while rendering. The frames keep on adding up on the bottom menu but I can't watch the video. I have searched everywhere, any help would be appreciated.

I am currently working on GTX 1650 GDDR6 4GB. GeForce Game Ready Driver Version 527.37

and Driver Version 31.0.15.2698. Thank you for responding

At some installations that latest driverversion gives all kind of problems with the preview window. Going back to driverversion 522.30 helps

I found the Game Ready Driver version 522.25, should I revert back to it?

Musicvid wrote on 12/2/2022, 7:18 AM

It is strongly recommended that you install the latest "Studio" version of the drivers, and not a "Game" version.

mud wrote on 12/2/2022, 7:34 AM

Ohh I know that but I record games and render them. I need game ready drivers for gameplay hence, I use the same for rendering. I used to have two separate systems, I am working with one currently.

@j-v sir, your solution has worked for me. Many many thanks, I have been trying to solve it since some time.

Just wanted to add a note that I had the same problem...video not showing up when rendering I have GTX GEForce 1660 TD 536.99 (studio version) 31.0.15.3161.

I tried the latest versions and some older ones 472.84...problem still persisted.

V522.30 was still the only good one that worked...(must be a year old!)

mud wrote on 8/21/2023, 12:46 PM

@Julius_thanks for the update, I agree 522.30 works fine but it's quite old.

There is also another option by changing the settings of the newest Nvidia driver following this:

Thanks @j-v, I did that for V20, but the problem came back with V21 & it was just sinking in that I might have to do it again.

Of course something like this should also be done for version 21 until NVidia comes up with a solution
