Smooth keyframing movement on a curve at a constant speed?

I wish Vegas had the ability to animate objects on a path. I've just spent a couple of hours trying to do something which should be simple - get an object to enter bottom middle and leave top-middle right moving on a curve. I can get either the curve or constant movement speed but not both together. Setting my 3 keyframes to linear movement and keyframe interpolation of 100 is the closest I can get but the movement gradually speeds up in the middle. How is it done? Thanks.

There are a lot of variables that will affect the movement, which I am sure you are aware of. But some to think about, 1) How much time is between each keyframe, if they are not equal time then the move will change speed. 2) What is the distance of movement between each keyframe. If the distance between 1 and 2 is smaller than between 2 and 3, then it has to speed up at some point to hit 3 on time. And also each keyframe can have its own interpolation setting, so this affects it as well. I remember at one time Vegas would actually show you the curve, but it doesn't anymore.

There are plugins that turn Vegas into an effective animation / motion tracking editor. If you are determined to do this natively, you had better have a lot more patience than me.

Thanks for the replies. Showing the curve is something Magix should consider adding back. What are the plugins. I had a quick go with the Vegasaur Tweener but ended up with something worse than doing it by hand.

Mocha and Boris and Hitfilm are a few to test drive.

Thanks, is that Hitfilm stand alone or the ignite plug-in? If the plug-ins do you a name? Searching through the Vegas Plug in list makes my eyes spin and head water.
