[SOLVED] Syncing Lyrics in Music Videos

razor7video wrote on 9/20/2019, 3:14 PM

Hello--

I wonder if there are any tools or tricks you use when you're adding lyric text to display in a timeline with video? Right now I'm manually inserting text and it works, but it is really time-consuming.

There are LRC editors that enable you to set time markers with a music track so the lyrics will display on players that are compatible with LRC formatted lyrics. Those are very convenient and don't take long to do. I would think someone must have thought of a way to incorporate that into Vegas Pro.

Any ideas? I'm on VP 13.

Thanks!

Stephen

If you just want subtitles, Vegas has a system for that, but if you're making a lyric video, just place a marker at each lyric by pressing M as it plays.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

That's how I'm doing it now. I'd like something where all of the lyrics are in some cache, etc. and then I just click the line I want in real time while the song is playing and that line would be inserted.

Thanks though,

Vegas doesn't do that, nor does it have karaoke support.

Vegasaur can help you with that:

Text Generation Wizard and Titles and text

Is there a VegasPro plugin that does this basic process. I believe it's almost completely automated, responding to frequency and amplitude. It's very common to see on YouTube with music only uploads

EDIT: They're done in Adobe AE using Trapcode: Particular & Soundkeys. Not avil for vegas.

I wish all of my "tough" tasks in producing music vids were this "tough."

Vegas Post can do that. It uses trapcode-like particle generators. Pretty sure they can be made audio reactive as well.

I don't have Post to test it, but as far as I can tell, it uses the same Hitfilm particle generator that this software uses, so yes, it should be do audio reactive particles just like AE/Trapcode (which trapcode is a paid plugin suite, and together they cost far more than Post).

This looks very interesting and might even work for my projects. Even so, being able to change the font, size, and color of all inserted text at once instead of each section manually would be worth it. I'll need to look at this more closely.

Many thanks!

Thanks,

Stephen

^That would probably require a separate script to do, but I imagine it's possible. Unfortunately, I don't know how to code them up, so I can't tell you for sure. I do know the makers of Vegasssaur and Happy Otter Scripts both hang around these forums, as well as several others who write handy scripts from time to time, so... keep requesting features! The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Hopefully someone who knows whether or not this can be done can chime in with a better response than I can give.

Thanks. I honestly never thought that Vegas would have this feature. I expected that if there was a solution, it was probably a third-party plug-in.

Thanks,

Stephen
