Lost all my photos that were on my Back drive but I find Movie Studio 11 has all my files intact "all y files including Word etc" as well as my videos & pictures.  I cant seem to figure how to move all the pict's & Video files to my new backup. like cutting & pasting or whatever. I can open them & look at the picts etc but cant seem to move each folder to a new safe place to recover the files lost.  Any ideas how to do it?

If Movie Studio is able to see your pictures, they must exist in a folder somewhere. If you right-click on the picture in the Media Pool and select "explore containing folder" that will link you to the file in the folder. Once you discover that, you should be able to use Windows to copy that folder to your preferred location.

Thanks for your reply, actually I have been trying to come up with a way for a while off and on.  I finally looked around to find the Forum to ask what I could do.  After I did I was looking what I had to choose from after right clicking on the file, I had opened individual pictures before but this would be a very time consuming was moving all of them one by one.  So I thought I would try using the explore command and I moved a Folder over to my Desktop so I tried hi lighting a few and they did & I  moved them to my Desktop so I did the whole folder then.  Now I will have to do all the rest after I make room on my External backup.  Thanks fro your answer , that just confirms what I'm doing.  This has been a pain as I didn’t want to do anything to loose all of them or I would be really in trouble as this started with the failure of my internal backup drive and mistake I made with a shortcut that linked to my external drive & then no "My Picture " file.  About 75GB;s of photos and untold videos.

Ctrl+C means copy

Ctrl+V means paste.

It works with files and folders.

For more basic Windows commands and tutelage, see Google. We tend to talk mostly about Vegas software.

This method is OK while working in Windows and some other programs but will not work in this program or at least I cant get it to. When doing that all I can get is a blank on my desktop with no picture when you Hi lite a picture with your mouse you get a box with some commands in it. As I mention above one is "Explore Current Folder" Choose taht command and that will open the folder so you can see all the pictures contained. So for my purposes I just go to the bottom or top folder, hold the shift key down, hi lite all folders then I can cut and move all of them them out of the program in one move to a new folder that I have established on my backup HD. I have used the trick you mentioned before but it is usually much faster to use my mouse to do that. I have now moved almost all the folders with their pictures into the Backup HD. Thanks for the input.
