Speed ramping

Just upgraded to the Movie Studio 15 version after several years of using Sony Vegas 12. I am by no means an advanced video editor but am fairly familiar with the basic editing process and commonly used effects. One thing I really want to be able to do to get the best use out of some longer segments is to use speed ramping. I think I am right in saying this effect is available in the Pro tools but they are probably a bit expensive for my needs. The alternative of using other vendors products that have this feature exists but involve subscription based pricing and that adds up. I don't might paying for a plug in or even using a stand alone tool that smoothly allows increases and decreases in frames. Any suggestions? I looked at reSpeedr but it seems to allow straight increase or decrease in speed but no transition in between from the fast to slow or vice versa.Google Searches mostly point to the feature in another vendors product.

I see why you used the $ character in "sophisticated". I would likely be cheaper just using the other editing product from the start😱
