static on editing, again

Tom-Pence wrote on 12/2/2020, 9:51 AM

I've read a few posts about static on a project but I've been unable to find a solution. I used Movie Studio 14 for many years but recently bought new laptop and decided to go with Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum, just to be up to date with new features. Alas... the static is there when I edit and it even changes the files that were imported! Luckily, I have the originals on a SD card. Using a Dell Inspiron 3593, running Windows 10 Home. I did look at some older posts and the solutions that worked, but nothing seems to be working on the new MS17. I'll check in here first before I try Magix support.

MSP is a non-destructive editor. It's not possible for it to change your original files.

Perhaps a loud "hiss" over the audio is a better description. I think my laptop may not meet the system requirements. It loads well and allows me all the editing I want, but the hiss on playback is the issue. Perhaps it's a hardware problem.

Perhaps it is a file problem. Let's check that first. All of Section C please.

It appears the problem is with the sound drivers and nothing more. Trial and error self-fix. Thanks for the input and I appreciate the real-life experience of all members.
