Stutter only in "Enable Multicam Editing"

BillRankin wrote on 1/8/2019, 11:58 AM

Created multicamera track with 5 tracks, each source video is on a separate drive. Video plays as expected. When I select "enable multicamera editing" video plays very choppy on both Vegas monitor and the HDTV monitor I have connected. When 'enable multicam editing" is unchecked, video plays fine. "Preview" choice has no impact on how smooth it plays.

Any ideas???

I know what you mean, I had this too just with 3 tracks on a weaker machine. In my case it was 2 fullHD tracks (AVC), and a 1440*1080 (HDV mpeg2).

I had to create proxies, after that the multicam preview was buttersmooth at preview/full.

Don't forget to set preview to "preview"! Anything above that (good, best) uses the original file, not the proxy, so the multicampreview will stuttery again.

Thanks...I will try that...my footage is (2) mp4s, and (3) xavc L. I guess there is no way to create proxies after creating a multitrack for editing, right?

Yes, there is. In project media right click and choose create proxy.
