Sync problem on Youtube

paul-k wrote on 7/23/2017, 11:51 AM

Dear Forummates,

I have a problem with video and audio synchronization on Youtube. Synchronization is correct on the rendered file, it is also fine on youtube - if it is displayed on the computer. The error appears when displaying on the mobile phone. Then the sound goes ahead or slows down towards the video. I have tried many ways - no result. Help!

Best,

Paul

If YouTube gives proper playback on one device and not on another, very little you can do in Vegas can penetrate the firewall.

Publish your Vegas and MediaInfo properties for both source and render, though, as some may be able to give a few tips.

I assume YouTube, like Vimeo, creates several versions of your video at different resolutions. It is probably streaming a different resolution to your phone than to your pc. So it is probably a problem with YouTube's created file. Have you tried raising it with them?

I think maybe the xdcam footage is a factor.

Try mp4 at around 10 Mbps and see if it makes a difference.

EricLNZ inspired me to check the video also on Vimeo. It turned out that the problem still exists but that it is probably related to Google Chrome on mobile phones! When I use Mozilla Firefox or Safari - everything is fine (Google Chrome on the computer is ok too). On the other hand, I've seen similar video content on the Internet that displayed correctly on both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox ...

After today's analysis of audio-video material on many mobile phones, I am sure that the problem only occurs in Google Chrome (the problem is that in Poland is the most common browser), just see:
