No version of Vegas automatically matches the project properties to image (GIF) files added to the timeline. So you must Match Media Properties manually. To see how to do this, type "Project Media Settings" into Vegas Help.
And happy learning!

Sorry, I will try to describe the problem more explicit this time.
In the origin animated gif, the man rolls on the ground from right to left, and soon disappear from the screen. While in the imported gif, the man doesn't disappear. He stayed inside the screen until the whole animation was over. That's the "difference" I want to tell. I have no idea how this happaned, since the only thing I did was dragging the original gif into Vegas.
Did you set your project properties, including frame rate, to match the source as suggested?
After doing that, did you actually test a render, or just the preview?

Vegas isn't really compatible with gifs, it plays them back terribly, Use software like free Shutter encoder to convert to MP4, Just be aware I have had gifs it couldn't convert, I think due to unusual dimensions the engine of shutter encoder (FFMPEG) says sorry not possible.
If you do have problems re-encoding try Giphy or other Gif websites, When you upload your gif they re-encode to a video, and pretend they're still gifs. But this could also have problems if they are using license free codecs inside webm containers. That's something Vegas won't load . That's 2 options you can try, you mostly shouldn't use the GIF directly , slow and laggy and in your circumstance showing very unusual occurrence that I can't explain
