The video shows a green screen, but the audio still plays.

The file I've put onto my timeline is an MP4 file. But for some reason, the actual video itself doesn't play, and instead it shows a green screen, but the audio to the MP4 file still plays. I'am using the version Vegas Pro 13.0. The photo is what is looks like, the media offline part comes on when I close the tab, I used a snipping tool to take this photo. It'll be very much appreciated if someone is able to help me solve this issue :) Thank you for reading.

Post the file information please

FYI mp4 is a container that could contain hundreds of combinations of properties.

Try converting your video in Handbrake, being sure to select Constant Frame Rate, and Same as Source. Does it work better now?

M4V is sometimes copy protected, and there is little one can do in that case.

@Musicvid No.. But thanks for the help anyways! I didn't think I'd actually get a response lol

I agree with MusicVid. Your video has some non-standard elements. Converting it to a standard 1920x1080 constant frame rate video in Handbrake will solve your problems.

Here's my tutorial on converting video with Handbrake.

@Steve Grisetti I did everything the video said, except the width and height for my video is 1910x1070, not 1920x1080 like it is in your video. I tried changing it too 1920x1080 but it didnt work and the numbers kept differing on the other side. Would it help if I said Its a cartoon-like video and not a video you'd capture with a camera or something? I downloaded this video from the internet, I didn't record it..

Your video is not a standard size, and converting it to a standard MP4 should also involve changing its resolution.

With your video open in Handbrake, go to the Dimensions page. Set Anamorphic and set Anamorphic to None. Uncheck Keep Aspect Ratio and type in Width and Height to 1920 and 1080. Also ensure Cropping is set to Automatic.
