Uncompressed MPEG2 video export not working

Hello

I am trying to export a videofile, without having Movie Studio 17 (204) recompress the video. I just made edits to the Audio stream, but when trying to export the video, it always seems to recompress.

To my knowledge VMS cannot smart render mpeg2 so yes it will always recompress. If you are just altering the audio there are other ways of doing that but I'll leave the experts to explain.

Like Eric, I don't know that VMS will smart render .mpg, but you can see if this thread helps:

@Garou Do you have DVD Architect? If so there's a simple work around using it which would smart render your video stream and replace the audio track.

Also, you can check out the trial version of VideoRedo, which will even smart render h264.

@EricLNZ

I do have architect.

@Musicvid

I will have a look at VideoReDo, thanks!

Movie Studio and Vegas Pro can smart render MPEG-2 but only if the render specs exactly meets the source specs which only is the case if the source MPEG-2 already was created by Movie Studio (Vegas Pro).

To recap the properties Marco refers to,

In order to perform MPEG-2 rendering without recompression, the width, height, frame rate, field order, profile, level, and bit rate (Peak and Average) of the source media, project settings, and rendering template must match. Frames that have effects, compositing, or transitions applied will be rendered.

The Mainconcept MPEG-2 encoder is where you will find all of these parameters exposed.

That said, I didn't have any luck yesterday trying to smart-render MPEG-2 in MSP13, although I may have missed something.
